If you'd like to see more than your local hotel beach or the
next door taverna you are in need of a car. Especially in the
east a rental car is a must just to see the higlights of the
landscape, reach hiking trails and doing roundtrips without
waiting for the bus.
There ar hundreds of Rent A Car companies on the island. Most
of them with good cars and almost similar prices. But sometimes
customers are in trouble because damage weavers are not included
or rental conditions are written in a very stange kind of language.

I made good experiences with Protos from Ierapetra. The owners
are from Germany, living on the island for more than 15 years
now. Alle cars are in a very good shape, almost new or brand
new, all types of insurances included etc.
